I bought this for my daughters 2nd bday. It is very easy to work and her 3 and 4 yr old cousins loved it. My husband and I enjoy playing with also I havent had any problems with the wheels rubbing as in another review. I think its a great first remote control car/toy.

I bought 2 of these. One for my son and one for my nephew. They both suck. There is really only one problem. And that’s that the wheel well is not large enough to allow proper spinning of the wheels. I read in some of the other reviews this happened but others didn’t so I bought them. I’m frustrated that I’m gonna have to jerry rig this thing so my son can play with.

This product was perfect for my 2 year old son. He loves using the remote control and seeing the effects of pushing the buttons. It is very durable and not too loud for indoor use. A definite must have as a first remote controlled vehicle.

It seems to work fine. at one point it ‘somehow’ drove down a flight of stairs and is fine. takes a ton of batteries but I haven’t had to replace them as yet so I don’t know how long they will last.

This was a good purchase. It was great for my nephew who just turned 2 he was able to control it and do it by himself. It was the only toy he played with at the party. A big hit. The noise on carpet was not bad, I hear at home on the hard wood it was louder nothing a little packing tape couldn’t fix. Also this bus is very soft plastic (flexable almost) we thought that was a good thing.

Bought this for my niece, she simply loves it. It’s very durable. The bus itself is not from hard plastic, it’s made from soft plastic so it will not break or get damage.

My 1 year old already had a remote controlled spider which she loves to play with so we got this for her as well. She gets a kick out of it and picked up the simple controls very quickly. It isn’t very loud but certainly not quiet. Very durable and rather soft.

We bought this toy for my son’s fourth birthday in April of 2008. He has used it for the last year or so with no problems. This toy has driven through sand (BAD idea, but didn’t kill it), water, on carpet, concrete and vinyl flooring. It does not do well on grass. The remote has been submerged twice. We took it apart, dried it out and it works fine. The Gator has been dropped on concrete and down the stairs. It still works. The weakest part has been the string antenna on the car itself. Our toddler ripped it right out. Now you have to stand pretty close to the car to make it go. This car does float in water. We drove it through the swimming pool this weekend.

One word of caution, if you have more than one morphibian, they can’t be used at the same time. The remotes will control any morphibian in the area. This is rather frustrating. My 8 yr old has the Komodo Dragon morphibian. The kids have to take turns using their cars.

So far I’ve been very happy with this car. It may be a little difficult to operate at first, because both “control sticks” go up and down, but it gets easier the more one uses it (both up=forward, both down=backward, right up only=turn left, left up only=turn right). Power seems to be good enough to get it over most surfaces, but it won’t work in grass unless the grass is cut very short. Works in wood chips found at playgrounds but sometimes gets stuck (can usually get it unstuck fiddling with the controller). On my laminate flooring it does a lot of sliding and is harder to turn accurately but it can still be used. I haven’t tried it in water.

Changing the batteries is a bit time consuming because two screws have to be removed, but battery life seems very good. I use rechargeable Sanyo Eneloops. The car takes 3 AA’s and the controller takes 2 AAA’s.

Range is OK… could be better indoors but is better outdoors… just don’t expect that much, maybe up to 100 feet outdoors.

The headlights (which appear to be LEDs) are nice. They are on anytime the unit is on.

Durability seems pretty good though the on/off switch can sometimes be a bit fussy and difficult to turn on (sometimes need to wiggle it a bit). There’s no on/off switch on the controller. Overall though, this seems to be a great toy for the price.

Hands down the Gator is the best R/C you can buy for [..]. It is tough, fast enough (brisk walking speed) and does go in water fairly well. Do take into account that almost no R/C car/truck should be in sand or loose dirt. Most [..]R/C cars are crap, this is the exception. Rock on Gator!

This truly is great for a child’s first remote control car. The sound effects are great! Not too loud and it really gets my grandson’s attention. The two-button remote control is easy for him to operate and hold. Batteries easy to replace and last a really long time in both the car and the remote control. NO SPECIAL SCREWDRIVER NEEDED: Just a small phillips is all it takes. Highly recommended! We bought the police car, fire truck, construction loader and school bus. This toy is pretty easy to operate and works great both on land and in the water. We took it to Lake Cumberland and when we were stopped in a cove my son used it in the water. It worked great! My son drove it around the boat. Also, my son didn’t realize that you shouldn’t take the controller into the water and accidentally put it under water. When it all finally dried out, it still worked! (However, I would try to make sure that you don’t do this.) Good durable toy for the price and simple to control.

i got this for my son who’s 3 1/2. he loves it. he can’t quite make it go where he wants yet, but that makes it a challenge, so there’s room for growing into it!! it doesn’t make a TON of noise. it’s VERY durable. and very cute. i haven’t tried it in our pool yet. i guess i’ll just try to seal it up well by making sure the screws are in as tight as can be on the battery cover, and then let him try it. either way, it’s a great, fun toy for preschool age!

I purchased both this Land Shark and the Gator Morphibian Radio Control car for my two kids for Christmas. My son is 4-1/2 and my daughter is 3. They are both able to use the controllers with little difficulty now that they have had more practice. Knowing which knob to push to turn the cars left and right was a little tricky at first but they are getting the hang of it. The best thing is that both kids can use both cars at the same time without any problems with the radio frequencies interfering with each other. These cars are pretty tough and can withstand being driven into walls and each other, driven over ramps made out of stacked up books, and even withstand being flipped upside down. We have yet to try them outside as we have about 10 inches of snow right now! I would recommend these cars if you are looking for something fun for your kids (or husband…mine enjoys playing with them as well). The educational value is not overly high in the traditional sense but these cars do work on visual motor, visual perception and problem solving skills.
