Granddaughter loves this,

I purchased this for my 19 month old granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. She was able to figure out how to make the animals make their sounds very easily and she loves to hear the sounds they make. She has even learned to imitate their sounds. This has also been a great tool in teaching her how to put things up as she returns the animals to the barn when she is done playing. We just got these so not so sure how long the sounds will last or if the toy will stand up to a toddlers rough play but I love to watch her play with this. I am planning on buying the safari set that Aurora makes for her for Christmas. You can’t go wrong buying this.

OMG! We LOVE these little guys. I first accidentally picked up the safari animal set on vacation to a little zoo. The animals are so colorful and a perfect size for toddlers. As an educator I love the fact that the names are all embroidered into the sides of each animal. Some of the sounds are a little hoaky, but for this age group it works. It certainly provided hours of interaction between me and my child. Each set comes with its little carrying case, which also is a great size for the kids. These sets have traveled with us many places.

I have to mention the customer service of the company. What a friendly and helpful organization. My daughter wore out her favorite animal (the elephant) because she carried it EVERY WHERE! I called to see if I could buy a replacement and the company sent me one for FREE!!! WOW!

Needless to say we bought every set they have. A year and a half later they are still providing many hours of play and pretend time. My 7.5 yo will sit down and play with them as well as my husband.

We just purchased this for my 11 month old daughter. We have played with it with her for 2 weeks now. This is a great toy to teach her about animals and the sounds that they make. We have a great time lining them all up and asking her to pick out the cow, pig, duck or rooster. We have not washed any of the pieces yet, but they seem very durable and I would think could be cleaned easily with a cloth. Additionally, the sounds are very life like.

My son received this set as a gift from his aunt. One of the key goals of any train layout is creating turns and loops so that a train can reverse direction. Well, this innovative train set has a very clever mechanism that allows the train to be turned around with a crank. The mechanics are fascinating and my son loves it. It took me a few hours of playtime with this with my son using two trains to come up with the right pattern of steps to keep both trains moving around the track. My 4 year old son learned to handle half the switches and I handled the other ones. This was great fun.
We have two other Thomas track sets, a wooden one and take-along Thomas, and THIS is the only type of track that he can put together by himself. That makes this the favorite and a nice transition to electric trains.
So far, this toy has exceeded all expectations and has proved itself quite durable. Although the claw might sometimes (1 in 10 attempts) “miss” the pickup, we’ve found that the partial (one side) pickup still allows it to move the assembly just fine. The challenge of “getting it right” with a good technique makes this fun.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this train set.

I purchased this item for my 3yr old and 1yr old. They love it. It only comes with 100 balls . So it is not enough to fill up the play zone, BUT it is enough to pick up around the house. They are now going on 4 and 2 and I think they are ready to add the extra balls. But they have a blast rolling around in it and throwing the balls out of the top (we of course throw the balls back in at them). I even babysit other children and have had 5 kids in there at once (very well behaved) but they all enjoy it and the balls come with a very large mesh bag for storage and great to wash them in….i just put them all in the bag and spray them with the shower head!The base of the zone on inside is a vinyl like material…so it makes wiping up any dirt very easy.

We got this ball pit for our 18-month old daughter. We love it! Most importantly though, she loves it! I picked this one because I don’t have to blow it up, like you would with other pits. I also like that it’s not plastic … the plastic ones seemed like a suffocation hazard to me – although that’s just my personal opinion. Another plus – this ball pit is HUGE compared to the other ones out there. Four children could very easily fit in there and play. My 18-month old daughter can stand up in it with at least a foot to grow (and she’s tall for her age). The 3 openings in the ball pit can be tied up to stay open. However, only the largest opening has velcro to close it shut. I think we may add velcro to the other 2 smaller openings so that we could close them if we like. I love that it’s SO easy to put up and take down. It literally springs open and folds closed. Plus, the balls come in a mesh bag.

Everyone else is right – 100 balls is not nearly enough to fill up the pit. We got the extra 100 balls – they just barely fill up the bottom to my liking. But, the extra 100 is really all you’ll fit in the ball pit. This leads to my ONLY gripe about this toy … the bottom of the pit where the 3 openings are are not very high. So, we’re constantly picking balls up to put them back into the pit because they fall out easily. I don’t really feel that this small issue affects the toy. I still gave it 5 stars, but wanted to let other people know about it in case it affects their decision to buy the ball pit (although it shouldn’t!).

All in all, this is such a fun toy! It is big, so you need some room for it, but it’s totally worth it!

This thing is the greatest. I bought this for my 18 month old girl. She absoultly loves it. Like everyone else said, it is quite large ~10′ X ~5′. Although we have not used it outside yet, we will be. As for as folding it I wont lie, it took me almost 30 minutes to figure it out. Here’s how I did it:

–Stand at the top of the house.
–Grab the Bottom of the house, one hand near (not at) each corner.
–Fold it down until shape resembles a “C”.
–Continue until the top and the bottom almost touch each other.
–Now here the tricky part, slide your hands toward the middle and move the bottom metal rod inward toward the middle of the house.
–The sides will start to fold up and to the center.
–Once the the middle rod is in the center of the house.
–Grab the sides and fold them down one on top of the other.

My sister bought this for her kids and I thought it was just an ordinary kids tent, boy, was I surprised. It was HUGE!! there is plenty of room for several kids (pre-teens) included. Our kids are constantly pulling all the blakets out to make a tents and trying to secure the edges with as many breakables as possible. Those days are over, there is so much room that it can accomadate a small slumber party. I can see this will be a favorite for toddles all the way up to 11 years old. Great buy!!

I ordered this playhouse a few weeks ago for my 3 year old and 18 month old. They love it. The 3 yr. old wants to sleep in it every night. We read books in it, have tea in the screened in patio, play with toys in it. It is a great playhouse that can go outside or in and can travel!!

I also had trouble getting it to fold down compactly. I called 1-888-PLAYHUT and they walked me through it over the phone. It is so easy, the written directions are hard to follow. The customer service department was very friendly and helpful.

Great for my 4 year old!,

I wanted to get this for my son because he was taking a little longer than usual to become friends with alot of the kids in his pre-k class and wasn’t really speaking up. The teacher told me to get him puppets and act things out with him.. So when i was looking at it online he said he wanted it for christmas.. He was talking about it for about 2 months straight-lol.. he even told santa thats what he really wanted..when he woke up and saw it under the tree he was EXCITED. Putting it together was easy and the 2 puppets are good for his hands. He loves playing with it.

I bought this puppet theater for my 3 1/2 year old for Christmas. He absolutely loves it! I would recommend this for anyone. It is light enough for an adult to maneuver it all around the house but I did tell my son he isn’t allowed to walk around holding it b/c he could get hurt. There is storage behind the theater but it is so small you may only fit 4 puppets inside. My son puts on shows for me all day long. It is so wonderful to see him acting with his puppets and coming up with his own show ideas. All in all I am very pleased with our purchase! Definitely a winner in my house! When his cousins came over, they all played with the theater together. 2 put on a show and 2 watched the show. Very cute.

My two children (ages 2 & 4) love this puppet theater. It is very sturdy. The two puppets, light & curtains are such a plus for this toy. Soooooooo much fun,

I first saw this toy at a play group where my 10 month old son played with it for a bit. Once he got the idea of crawling through the tunnels he loved it. I came home and ordered a set for ourselves. Firstly, this is by far the best price for this set anywhere and secondly, we have sooooooo much fun with it. My son loves crawling through the tunnel and playing peek-a-boo. My husband and I will often play with him and we all have a great time. I am so glad I bought this set and would recommend it for new crawlers and up. The other good thing is that you don’t need to set up all the pieces up to play with it. Right now we use only one tunnel most of the time and occasionally bring out another tunnel and the center piece. I can’t wait to take it outside in the summer. As my son gets older we’ll use more pieces so it can grow with him. No fancy bells and whistles, just plain old fun for everyone.

The tunnel-tent system is fantastic fun for my 1 and 3 yr old boys. The only hitch is that it is ENORMOUS (adults will fit easily!!). I was expecting little tents, but they are really big. So, while it swallows my living room, they have a blast. My only beef with this toy is that I wish the tunnels, connector, and tents had some way of holding together – like with a little piece of velcro or something. My boys are not exactly “delicate” with their toys so I am constantly putting the whole thing back together again as pieces go flying across the room. We took it outside on a warm sunny day recently and it was a REALLY fun outside toy too, of course. Overall, I highly reccommend it.

Great gift for an autistic child that likes to be covered!,

I had my parents get this for my 9 year old autistic daughter for Christmas. She is extreamly hard to buy for as we dont quite know what will make her happy. This turned out to be an awsome gift! She likes to be covered but I worry that she cant breathe well. This tent has plenty of mesh that I dont need to worry. It can also stay open if you want. When we put this together, she became VERY excited and she jumped right in and was giggling the whole time! It also kind of helped promote interaction with her little sister. She was so excited about it, she actually asked (in her way)her sister to get in with her, and then wanted her sister to sleep with her! She still has it up and the girls play in it daily. This was one of the best gifts I have ever found for her.

I purchased this tent for Christmas for my 2 daughters (ages 6 & 9) and I couldn’t be more impressed with it! The set up is easy and it’s very sturdy, fits perfectly,and has no problem staying on their full sized beds. Plus it’s super cute and all of their friends love it too! My girls have slept in it every night since they got it. When we stay the night away from home they even take it with them! We love the tent and hope we will enjoy it for a long time!

It’s tent so for a 5 year old it’s super fun! The bad thing about this tent is, the child has to sleep on the tent fabric. You can not lay your own sheet down. Unless you put a air mattress in it, but we’re using it over the top of her mattress on her bed. If she wets the bed, we have to wash the whole tent and then the stars washed away. It’s pretty durable, no rips or wholes yet.

I bought this for my son, 2 1/2 yrs, who is very interested in golf. I wasn’t sure if it would fit him well, but the clubs were perfect for him. Fantastic Table- Don’t Hesitate to Buy!,

Wow- What a wonderful table! I did acres of research on all the different options before buying this one for our youngest child’s first birthday present. I’m so glad we bought this one- we couldn’t be happier with it. Here are the things we like about this table.

1. Great size. This table is large enough that multiple children can play with it together (some of the ones on the market are really small). BUT, it’s not so large it can’t be used inside. We’ve put it in the kitchen on several occasions for the children to play with during nasty weather days.
2. It is heavy and sturdy. My kids have climbed all over it and haven’t been able to tip it over. But, it’s not so heavy that I can’t lift it on my own. I lifted it over the child safety gate (with the sand in it) to carry it out of the kitchen and back to the deck.
3. I like the versatility of the table. You can use sand on one side and water on the other as intended. But, I’ve put in dried beans or dried rice instead of the water or just a tiny bit of water with some leftover spaghetti noodles and that was fun too. It’s nice to do on nasty winter days when the kids can’t go outside and are bored with playing inside. I just carry this into the kitchen and it gives them something a little new to do.
4. The umbrella is a nice feature- provides that little bit of shade so that they can play comfortably.
5. GREAT COVER- it really does stay put! We’ve had some strong winds and it’s never come off. Also, it usually is out on our deck and the cover has never leaked, even during the worst rain storms. The sand is always perfectly dry.

The ONE and only Con (and it’s a minor one): I wish that the umbrella would tilt so that I could move it around to block the shade. Other than that, this is the perfect table!

We purchased this table for our 3 year old daughter and she loves it. It was a smash with all the kids at her birthday party, not so much with the parents of the sand coated kids. My main reason for wanting a table was to prevent killing the grass underneath as a traditional sandbox would. I chose this one because it has an umbrella (which is very stable and adjustable) and because it has a hard cover. The cover attaches very securely thus keeping additional water, bugs, worms, leaves and various other things out…including my daughter, which comes in handy. My daughter is very pleased with the sand/water combo, rather I should say, the sand “in” the water combo. ) Having a sandbox at her waist level seems to be very convenient for her. She scoots back and forth most of the time but can sit on a little chair and play too. I intend to bring it into the basement in the winter and fill it with rice (uncooked of course) so she can enjoy it year round. The drawback is the legs. They are attached with screws that can easily tear out and are not enough to keep the legs stable. Ours have not torn because I am very watchful of the position of the legs and prop them back up whenever I see them go askew. Other than that, I would highly recommend this table.

(Update: Sept 13) We’ve had this table for months now and I wanted to make some additional comments. The table is diffucult to move by yourself but I have my 3 yr old help me, she can easily carry the water side as long as there is no water in it. We have also taken this to a couple of family functions to keep my daughter from digging in the dirt or the flower beds, etc. It’s quite portable without the water and as long as you make sure the legs are straight and it isn’t free floating before you drive off. Another thing that I didn’t think of was that because the kids stand to play with the sand, they don’t get any sand up the legs of their shorts or in their underpants. Also, the umbrella shades more if you put it very low, just a few inches above your child’s head.

This sand box is amazing. Considering that the others are the same price, this is, without a doubt, the one to purchase. The leak-proof top, the toys, the natural look of the toy and the shade umbrella all make this unique.

Things to know:

1) do NOT cut the black cord on the outside of the box. This holds the top on and makes it resistant to rain getting into the toy. This is not evident when you purchase it, as the instruction manual is inside the box. (thank you other reviewer for this tip!)

2) The umbrella is a true navy, not black as it appears in the picture

3) get over your dreams of a perfect sand and water table, with the sand in one area and the water in the other. My son loves the sand and throws it all around our deck. He mixes the water in the sand area and vise versa. Let it go, as hard as it is.

4) the sand area holds 40 lbs. of sand. An average bag is 50 lbs (around $5) But get a second bag anyway (see #3)
